Finally! 2 Mile warm 4x400 with 4 min recovery, 4x200 with 2 min recovery, 8x100 with 30 sec recovery. Honestly I didn&rsquo;t know how the workout would go cuz my legs were soooo tired but it went better than expected! I was in range for everything and was with the group the whole time!!!!! 72,75,72,74 were my 400&rsquo; s. Led the 200&rsquo; s and hit 31&rsquo;s. I looooove 200&rsquo; s so stinking much. They are my favorite thing EVER!!!! Hundreds were good. Cool a mile.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coach told me I am a &ldquo;sandbagger&rdquo; cuz I did so well today haha. He said I was holding back the other days and that I need to stay confident in myself. Glad he is getting more faith in me. I definitely didn&rsquo;t think I was holding back any of the days, cuz I have been&nbsp;doing better than I ever have before and I&rsquo;m so happy about that, but I know I am getting faster and that I actually can run with the top girls, I just have to remember that&nbsp;</p> <p>Also coach decided to enter me into the 3k at conference too!!!!!! Yayayay&nbsp;</p> Fri, 16 Feb 2018 07:00:00 Thu, Feb 15, 2018 <p>Wellll, I ran to steeple this morning and did drills and jumped like 7 times and then my shin hurt so I did some more drills and shin exercises. Then it was snowing crazy so I walked to Sams and she drove me home. Not much of a run but it&rsquo;s fjne&nbsp;</p> <p>I went hiking in st George last weekend and I picked some creosote and put it in a bag with a wet paper towel and left it in my car and it still smells so good &nbsp;I&rsquo;m gonna leave it forever and keep making my own air fresheners cuz it smells so much better&nbsp;</p> <p>Pm- mile warm and then mile at 5:46 pace and then lap jog and 12x400&rsquo;s &nbsp;we were supposed to hit 78-84 and the first 5 were real good! I was with the top girls AND even led some repeats. Hit 81 on most of them.&nbsp;Then I missed the 6th one cuz I had to go to the frickin bathroom. 6,7,8, &nbsp;were really good! 9 was a little slow but still an 84 &nbsp;10 and 11 were struggling, 86,88. The last one was on my own and a 84. So only 2 we&rsquo;re out of range. Mile warm and then 3xmiles with 2 lap jog between. 5:53, 6:09, 6:15 were my Miles. The first one was a little fast. I think if I would have chilled it out a little they would have been more consistent, but I wanted to hang with the group as long as possible. After the miles we had 9 whistle hills which were actually not bad. I felt better on them and I led a handful of them so that was dope. If I didn&rsquo;t lead I was in that front group. I love hills and idk why but I do. Mile cool&nbsp;</p> <p>Half done with 4 days of speed. My shin has still been bugging me so coach is having me back off the jumping a little. I jump a few times and then work on form stuff that doesn&rsquo;t hurt as bad&nbsp;</p> <p>Cutting my mileage just a bit this week cuz it&rsquo;s 4 days of speed and that&rsquo;s the rule&nbsp;</p> <p>PM- mile warm, 8x1000 with one minute recovery. man, this was a frickin hard workout but i did it and i am getting closer to the group and it makes me soooo happy and all the coaches are noticing that i am getting faster and closer and it makes me happy cuz hard work really does pay off. Just gotta keep the PMA. 3:38,39,41,42,47,48,58,51. first 4 were pretty consistent and with the group. Now i just got to keep a solid pace the last half instead of dropping, but ill get there. My legs were real tired and the first five miles was graudually all uphill and I was dying. It was sooooo muddy also. I had like 20 pounds of mud on my shoes. It was a beautiful run but I was tired&nbsp;</p> Sat, 10 Feb 2018 07:00:00 Fri, Feb 09, 2018 <p>8 miles again! haha its wierd cuz last week i ran more miles but i felt alot better, this week i have been pretty tired.</p> <p>we had a workout again today and it was a 5 mile 60% on the track. it was very hard and my legs felt heavy and tired and i didnt feel very smooth. We did a warmup mile and then 2 miles on the track and then a mile on the mile loop and then 2 more. the first mile sucked rlly rlly bad and then it just progressively got better. the first 2 miles it was sam and me and sierra. the next one was me and sam. and the last two were good but hard cuz they were by myself. feeling good that i felt awful but still hit faster than the times i was supposed to be. averaged like 6;35 for 5 miles. not bad. 2 miles cool.&nbsp;</p> <p>Cant wait for this weekend. going camping and to the gymnastics meet and having a good time!</p> <p>Oh. Also Mike Tait is so cool. He broke Cam Levins school record in the 5k and currently has the number one time in the ncaa for the szn. I feel awful cuz I have nvr nvr nvr slept through practice before.&nbsp;</p> <p>Pm practice was good. We had 2 Mile warm, 3 sets of 5x400 with 30 seconds recover (sometimes they were a little long tho). Each set had 2 minutes between. The first set was very mentally tough, and&nbsp;I was struggling. But the next sets were solid. I felt smooth and strong. My average for all of them was 83.7 which puts me to run a 17:20 5k. It only did it the first 6 and then I took like a 2 minute break before the steeples and then I was fine. He told us we couldnt average faster than 7:25 and we failed lol. we hit a 7:15 which still felt pretty chill so that was nice. My low calves were soooooooooooooooo&nbsp;beyond tight i was dying!!!! when i got back my feet were asleep from them being so tight and it was the wierdest thing of my entire life. Now that we are roommates i feel like i see less of her than i did before which is weird, but it happens</p> Tue, 06 Feb 2018 07:00:00 Mon, Feb 05, 2018 <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>no shakout this morning. not gonna hit quite so many miles this week, so i took this morning off. my legs were so tired today and i thought for sure we were gonna have a 50, but we didnt.&nbsp;</p> <p>2 mile warm, and then 3 strides. 5x800 and then 4x400. each of my 800&#39;s got slightly slower each time, and then the 400&#39;s were ok. the last 2 i got into it a little better, but not great.&nbsp;i was struggling a little today. my body was just tired, but it was still a decent workout. cooled a mile. cant complain about how it went. I finished the workout which is more than alot of other girls on the team, and ive had some great workouts the last few days.&nbsp;</p> <p>weights after was so hard! i was going a decent pace at everything and everyone was done soooo fast! i dont even understand!!!!</p> <p>today was bread and soup night and i went with sam after weights. it was soooo delicious.</p> <p>I have 5 tests this week. will see how this goes lol.</p> <p>yesterday was the best day of my entire life. Went to church with macey and then she left before 3rd hour but i ran into julieta and maddie in the bathroom and so i went to their sacrament and it was a good time haha. then ate breakfast with julieta and max, cuz they only go to sacrament meeting. then i went hammocking with them and then i went to a dope superbowl party at francis&#39;s house. go eagles. then i went with sam and kasandra and nicole to this weird rock pile and we laid on it and looked at the stars and it was a good time.</p> <p>I sometimes forget that the world doesnt revolve around me, and then sometimes i&nbsp;&nbsp;just look up into the sky and it makes me feel so small and it humbles me&nbsp;a little cuz there is sooooo much more out there than just me</p> <p>I almost forgot!! Adidas sent test shoes to some ppl on our team to try out and I got some and they are so dope. Speaking of az, ready to kick some tonight</p> <p>Yayayayaya for racing!! Warmed up a mile and did our warmups. Then the race! I got the worst start ever but it ended up being ok. I felt smooth and got back up with KaSandra and just sat on her shoulder for most of it. I was with her through 4 laps and she kicked a little better than me. Ended up 5:14 converted and I am sooo beyond stoked!! That&rsquo;s a pr and it felt sooo good and that&rsquo;s off of a tough week of workouts and I felt like there was more. Definitely keeping the avocado socks cuz they are lucky. Excited for the rest of szn &nbsp;</p> <p>Cooled 4.5 with sam. She&rsquo;s my favorite. We ran on this road that I ran on with my high school team once when we were going to nxr &nbsp;I remember it real good cuz we were screaming Christmas songs at the beginning of&nbsp;November the whole run and everyone was laughing at us. I&rsquo;m glad the race is tomorrow</p> Thu, 01 Feb 2018 07:00:00 Wed, Jan 31, 2018 <p>Yayayayayaya for finishing freaking hard workouts and feeling amazing afterwards!!!!!!! so today we did a mile warm and thennnnnnnnn 15x400 with an all-out mile after. we kinda split the 400&#39;s into different speeds. the first 5 i was consistently around 87/88 and we had 45 second rest.&nbsp;i could have gone a bit faster, but i didnt know how my body was going to feel on the last ones, so i kinda chilled and just wanted to hit the back end of the pace window. im glad i did.&nbsp;the next 5 i hit 84/85 which was right at the tail end of pace again. i hit 85 twice, which was a second slow, but it was still ok. we had 60 seconds recovery on these ones. The next 5 we had 90 seconds recovery. i hit 83&#39;s pretty consistenly which was&nbsp;good and once again at the tail end of the window. but im glad i chilled the first half of the workout&nbsp;because even though i was a few seconds behind the main group of girls the first half, i was still in the window and&nbsp;by the last ones i was with&nbsp;the group the whole time and picking off some of the girls who started too fast. Then we had 90 seconds recovery and then an all out mile!! i hit a 6:20 which isnt awful, but not great. then i cooled to 9 with sam.&nbsp;</p> <p>Shoutout to Angie for literally hitting my pr in the mile after 15 400&#39;s haha. shes so fast i hope i can be as fast as her someday.&nbsp;</p> <p>Also props to me for being one of only 5 girls to finish the whole workout. that made me really happy actually. I felt so great the whoooole time. we did cross hollows and we averaged 7:10 pace even with the long hill at the end. I was cruising up the hill with maddy and it felt so AMAZING!! i can honestly say that i have never led the main group of girls, but i was today and it felt so great! after wards, we had 15 strides and i did mine with Sam. Ive been focusing on form (mostly arms)&nbsp;alot when i am running fast and i feel like i am getting decently better at it!&nbsp;</p> <p>Ice bath after with sam and emma. Well, becuase of the snow, we couldnt do our workout on the track cuz it was super went and kinda slushy. we got split into&nbsp;groups today and im a little confused about all the workouts but yeah. I was with the 5k group today with angie, julieta, sharlie, morgan, madison fruchey and ashley. We did 8x 3:30 minute pickups on the road with 90 second recovery. I was fine the first 3 and slowly got a little more behind. Its a good boost that coach believes i can run with the fastest girls on our team, but also a little discouraging cuz i am not quite as fast as them and get dropped alot. ill get there. finished to 9 miles after.&nbsp;</p> <p>I definitely need to be doing hw rn, but i stink at accomplishing anything. if worst comes to worst, ill just drop out of college and live in the library. no one would notice.</p> Mon, 22 Jan 2018 07:00:00 Sat, Jan 20, 2018 <p>7 Miles on the trails in flagstaff. Lived in the snow for like 45 minutes and I&rsquo;m already struggling with it lol. My face was sooooooo coold. I forgot how beautiful flagstaff is&nbsp;</p> <p>&bull;&bull;&bull;</p> <p>Mile warm and drills and stuff. Then the mile. I was the last person in the fast heat so that&rsquo;s always fun. We started sooo fast and I was ok through 3 laps and the last 2 I really died hard. My legs were so tired and felt kinda like noodles. I&rsquo;ve never felt so tired after a mile. Ran a 5:36 which converts to a 5:26 which is decent. Only one person in the slower heat beat me so that&rsquo;s good. Definitely not as good as last week but I&rsquo;ll get there. Mile cool down</p> <p>Mile warm and then the 3000. We were supposed to do it as a good workout. I was really strong through 6 laps, and ok the 7 and 8 one. My last 2 were a little strugglish but they were ok &nbsp;I&rsquo;ve got to work on opening my stride. Ended up 11:20 which converts to about 10:55 which would be pretty similar to my pr in the 3200 so I&rsquo;m pretty happy with it. Excited to keep racing and see what I can do. Can&rsquo;t complain about how things went considering the higher mileage and decently hard workouts. If anything practice is helping me regain a little flexibility which should help my piriformis continue to heal cuz most problems from that come from a loss of flexibility. Getting a better hang of things so that&rsquo;s good! 2 Miles chill after</p> <p>Pm- pretty much the toughest workout of my entire life. Coach also stuck me with the A group.&nbsp;So we did a mile warm and then a 3k at 85%&nbsp;hitting 88&rsquo;s every lap. Which for me, is barely slower than my 3200 race pace last year. I hung on pretty well until the last 2 laps then I fell off and Morgan also fell off and we worked together for a bit. Then we had 90 seconds rest and did 14x400. The first 6 were supposed to be at 5k pace, the next 5 at 3k pace and the last 3 at 1500 pace. To say the least the first 6 were decent and the next 8 I played a game called see how long you can stay on the group before you die and fall off. Usually that was about 200 meters. The last 8 were very consistent tho. I hit 85/6 almost every time lol which was way slow but it was fine. &nbsp;At least I did the whole thing without dying.</p> <p>Coach had on this&nbsp;cologne at practice and every time I ran by I thought I wasn&rsquo;t gonna throw up. It wasn&rsquo;t a gross smell, but it definitely did not settle my stomach well while running lol&nbsp;</p> <p>Tried to ice bath after and made it a whole minute. I had enough pain for the day.</p> <p>Also found out I&rsquo;m racing the 3k and the mile this weekend at NAU so I&rsquo;m stoked for that.&nbsp;</p> <p>Also I had more important news but i forgot it so I&rsquo;ll keep you posted if I remember.&nbsp;</p> Tue, 16 Jan 2018 07:00:00
